Deluxe Acoustic Guitars

The better quality of acoustic guitars falls under the category of deluxe acoustic guitars. They are made with better materials. And receive more care when they are made. Wood selection makes a lot of difference. Some woods project sounds differently than others. Some are more treble and vice versa. Wood is only a part of the whole equation. The quality of design and workmanship play a big roll. The different woods used are Mahogany, Koa, Brazilian Rosewood, Indian Rosewood, Sitka Spruce, Red Spruce, Maple, Alder, Poplar, Basswood and ivory. There may be other woods used but these are the most popular.

There are basically three body styles, the classic or travel style, the Dreadnought and the Jumbo. The first one offers a richer, clearer sound with a more compact body. The dreadnought gives out a very good base and Gibson introduced the Jumbo size. Deluxe acoustic guitars are here to stay.
